Arithmetic
Differential Splitter
Description The Output splits a single analog Input into a separate Positive Output & Negative Output.

If a bipolar output (+/- 10 Vdc) is required but not available, this block can be used with two unipolar analog outputs (0-10 Vdc) to provide the bipolar functionality (provided the connected device has an inverting and non-inverting input which are summed together internally).

Input Positive Output Negative Output
Input ≥ 0 Input 0
Input < 0 0 | Input |

Where | Input | is the absolute value of the input.

Connect the Positive Output to the device's non-inverting input and the Negative Output to the inverting input.

Parameters

Input Input, Read-write, Analog (signed 16-bit integer)
-327.67 % to 327.67 %
Positive Output Output, Read-only, Analog (signed 16-bit integer)
0.00 % to 327.67 %

When Input is Positive (+) the Output = Input; otherwise, the Output is zero.
Negative Output Output, Read-only, Analog (signed 16-bit integer)
0.00 % to 327.67 %

When Input is Negative (-) the Output = the absolute value of the Input; otherwise, the Output is zero.
